A neo-Palladian antique fireplace in veined Cararra, after a design by the 17th century architect Inigo Jones (1573–1652), whose classic iconic designs were popularized by Lord Burlington and William Kent in the early 18th century. With breakfront moulded shelf decorated with egg and dart and dentil mouldings. The frieze centred with an inset tablet of Portoro marble framed with white. The side panels of Carrara marble with contrasting foliate swags in statuary. The pilaster jambs with flutes and surmounted with acanthus decorated statuary brackets. The opening surrounded with geometrical architectural mouldings. 18th century with restorations.
