Jamb’s Garden Furniture within the flowers.

London fell into full bloom this week, as the sun shone down upon Chelsea flower show and the surrounding areas of Belgravia, with the magnificent floral displays created for the exterior of shops and restaurants.

Over in Camberwell we had to quickly repair the garden of freshly dug holes made by our dog to make way for Gardeners World. They had seen our garden published in the Gardenista book and asked to film with us. So, Thursday was spent in the glorious sunshine talking to Adam…

As the garden was as equally as important as the house in the traditional aesthetic of the English Country house, it is only natural that Jamb has designed a range of garden furniture and bespoke tables.

The Pennington solid oak bench outside the shop this week, with chamfered edges and traditional pegged construction that was used before glue was introduced in the 18th century.

Like with all our reproduction pieces the garden furniture is made from the finest materials. Our benches and bespoke tables are made from solid oak and the natural oil and tannin within the Oak protect and preserves it, creating a deep patination as the year’s pass.

The repetitive and geometrical pattern of the Wilsford bench with intricate interlaced fretwork is typical of the Chinoiserie fashion that swept through England in the eighteenth century.

The oak is heavily sanded which emphasises the grain of the wood and works as a catalyst for the ageing process, which bleaches more quickly in the wind and rain.

The Saltram Bench inspired from a Thomas Chippendale design is available in a smaller bench size as well.

We were happy that the Pennington and Camden that we left outside our shop were welcome rest bite for the weary crowds streaming past the shop on their way to the show.
